Smoke arising from location where surges and gunshots were heard in Jalalabad, Afghanistan (Reuters)Jalalabad, Afghanistan: Shooters stormed a midwife training centre in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad on Saturday, battling security forces for numerous hours and killing 3 staff.One of the opponents died early in the operation after detonating a suicide bomb however a 2nd claimed numerous hours before being eliminated, provincial government spokesperson Attaullah Khogyani said.A driver and 2 guard were killed and 7 people were injured however 63 other individuals, practically all women, were saved unharmed from the substance, which included a training center and a trainee residence.Gunfire and erratic explosions were heard throughout much of the day and clouds of black smoke increased from the area.There was no instant claim of obligation but a variety of current attacks have been declared by Islamic State, which has a stronghold in the surrounding province of Nangarhar, on the border with Pakistan.It was not immediately clear why the assaulters had actually targeted the facility, which was generally inhabited by trainee midwives from the eastern province of Nuristan.
