Microsoft combines Intune with ConfigMgr

Microsoft has combined its System Center Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) with its Intune unified endpoint management (UEM) platform, enabling users to access both using just one interface.

The combined products are now called Endpoint Manager, which makes licensing for Intune available to all ConfigMgr customers to co-manage Windows devices. Between the two cloud services, more than 200 million devices are being managed, Microsoft said.

IDG Contributor Network: Living on the Edge Chromium browser

This week at Ignite, Microsoft announced the final release of their Edge Chromium browser would be mid-January next year. But I&ve been living with this browser since June, and while I was initially impressed, it has gotten even better over time. (I expect many of you have yet to try this browser out, so herethe link to the preview of the browser.)

Along with this announcement was news of some other interesting aspects of this browser, which uniquely blends Google and Microsoft technology into something we haven&t seen in some time & effectively a co-developed product by two vendors who have been competing for nearly two decades, often vigorously. But both vendors embrace open source and the idea of collaborating to address big problems. So while both vendors started very differently, they are increasingly looking more and more alike.

Apple has updated its privacy website and published several white papers explaining its approach to the issue and how its products protect your privacy.

Apple offers moreinformation than ever

The updated website delivers much more information now, with a broad overview of what the company is doing. It details features and controls as well as the company's privacy policy and transparency report.

The site also offers a selection of understandable white papersthat explain how privacy controls work in Safari, Location Services, Photos and Sign-in With Apple. These contain a large amount of information on Apple and its services.
