An official vehicle of Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Raghubir Mahaseth was wheel-locked after the vehicle was found parked illegally on the sidewalk in a no-parking zone, at New Baneshwor, yesterday.
A white SUV with registration number Ba 2 Jha 4862, was wheel-locked for blocking the footpath.
The wheel-lock was later removed after the minister driver Shiva Ram Thapa paid Rs 1,000 in fine.

Meanwhile, Minister Mahaseth told The Himalayan Times that although he did not know about any such action until today, he welcomed the police action.
He said that it was a clear violation of rule to park the vehicle on the sidewalk against which he himself had lobbied.

My driver has been punished as per the rule and I do not have any grievances against any one,& he said.
