Kathmandu, September 4
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority today issued a notice in Gorkhapatra daily, summoning 58 individuals to record their statements in Lalita Niwas land grab case.
The CIAA started its investigation into the case after a probe team led by former government secretary Sharada Prasad Trital submitted its report to the government in December, claiming that some individuals had illegally grabbed 299 ropani land in Baluwatar.
The CIAA had, on June 26, summoned 86 individuals to record their statements in the Lalita Niwas land grab case.
The anti-corruption body has ordered 58 more individuals, through its recent notice, to appear before it to record their statements within the next seven days.
Some political leaders and businesspersons were also found involvedin the scam.
The CIAA has proceeded with its investigation into the case.
Most of the persons summoned by the anti-graft body were residents of Kathmandu.
Those summoned by the CIAA include Kalpana Tuladhar, Sharmila Shakya Bajracharya, Pragati Kansakar, Kamana Gurung, Sajjan Kumar Chachant (Parsa) Devanshi Goyal, Manoj Kumar Kedia (Parsa), Manoj Kumar Gautam (Ramechhap), Manti Gorkhali (Makwanpur) Nikita Tuladhar, Amitambh Tuladhar, Uma Prasai, Urishobha Tuladhar, Renuka Bajracharya, Subista Tuladhar, Anjana Tuladhar Tamrakar, Chandrika Kansakar Tuladhar, Sanu Chhori Bajracharya (Bhaktapur) Sipika Khetan, Sushma Bajracharya (Shakya), Sandhya Shakya (Bhaktapur), Sangita Rakhecha Kathori Bothra (Morang), Nutan Shrestha (Gorkha) Dharma Shobha Shakya, Dimpal Bansal, Sarita Manandhar Shrestha, Gita Gautam Khanal, Nitu Gurung (Kaski), Rita Ojha Gautam, Ratna Hira Bajracharya, Pratima Vaidya Pradhan, Prabin Tamrakar, Vijay Tamrakar, Maya Sherpa Gauchan, Mahesh Raja Tuladhar, Dwarika Devi Shrestha, Indu Sharma, Bhawani Joshi, Bharati Pandey (Kabhreplanchowk), Bibek Kumar Subedi, Keshav Tuladhar, Anita Devi Kansakar, Om Birman Tamrakar, Anilman Tamrakar, Govinda Lal Sanghai, Gayatri Shrestha (Kansakar), Radha Sigdel Acharya (Tanahun), Rupesh Kumar Subedi, Pahalman Gurung (Khotang), Purushottam Paudel, Pramod Sherchan (Myagdi), Kanak Karbal, Achut Raj Shrestha, Bijendra Joshi, Ramnath Ghimire, Purushottam Dhakal (erstwhile chief of Guthi Corporation) Prem Hari Dhakal (erstwhile deputy chief of Guthi Sansthan) Saraswati Kumari Shrestha (Parbat).
The CIAA launched an investigation into Baluwatar land grab case after a probe committee led by Trital found that ‘land mafia& in collusion with officials of Land Revenue Office, Dillibazar, had transferred ownership of the government land plots in Baluwatar to private citizens between 1991 and 2017.
