KATHMANDU: With the opening of a route to the summit point earlier this week, at least nine climbers have successfully scaled Himlung Himal in the autumn season.
According to Pasang Dawa Sherpa, lead climbing guide for the team, four members along with five Sherpa climbers from Himalayan Holidays Pvt.
Ltd successfully stood atop the 7,126-metre mountain at 8:40 am on October 15.

UK John Doyle, who led the UAE army team on Mt Himlung, along with Mohamed Al Dahoori, Tariq Al Zarooni and Abdulaziz Al Altamimi from UAE climbed the mountain, he added.
Pasang Dawa, Lakpa Nuru Sherpa, Mingma Chhiri Sherpa, Pasang Dawa Sherpa and Pasang Temba Sherpa also stood atop the mountain.
According to Rameshwar Niraula, an official at the Department of Tourism, at least 68 expedition members along with their support staff representing seven different teams have obtained climbing permits for Himlung Himal this season.
