KATHMANDU, MARCH 9A workshop on 'Roles, Practices and Needs of Problem-based Learning Mentor' was recently organised by Sagarmatha Engineering College in Kathmandu. Call to shun harmful traditional practices Confusion prevails over operation of Geta Medical College for want of law PBL is one of the student-centred teaching methods which promotes development of critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities and communication skills in students/learners. Organised in association with Aalto University of Finland, the workshop was co-funded by Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Union under the project 'Strengthening Problem-based Learning in South Asian Universities.

According to professor Ramesh Shrestha, the workshop aims to develop best practices in PBL education as a joint initiative between ten higher education institutions from Finland, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Netherlands and Lithuania.Furthermore, Shrestha shared that the workshop was organised to strengthen capacity of partners of higher education institutions in the above-mentioned countries as well as to contribute to local innovative ecosystems.Representatives from Aalto University in Finland, Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania and Indian Institute of Technology in India had presented papers on various topics.A version of this article appears in the print on March 10 2022, of The Himalayan Times. .
