KATHMANDU, APRIL 1Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today left for New Delhi on a three-day official visit at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, leading a 50-member delegation.

The prime minister was received at Indira Gandhi International Airport by the Indian Minister of State for Defence and Tourism Ajay Bhatt and other senior officials of India, as well as Ambassador of Nepal to India Shankar Prasad Sharma and officials of the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, according to the embassy.
India's Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar called on the PM this evening.
Jaishankar wrote on Twitter that he was pleased to meet Deuba.
He was confident that Deuba's visit would further strengthen close neighbourly relations between the two countries.In New Delhi, the PM went to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party Headquarters, along with the ministers in his entourage, and met BJP President JP Nadda.Deuba and his entourage also attended a reception organised by the Embassy of Nepal in India.Earlier, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota, Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, ministers, office-bearers of constitutional bodies, representatives of Kathmandu-based diplomatic missions, including the charge d'affaires of Indian Embassy, saw off the PM at Tribhuvan International Airport's VVIP lounge.
The PM was also offered a guard of honour by a contingent of the Nepali Army.The prime minister's entourage includes his wife Arzu Rana Deuba, Minister of Foreign Affairs Narayan Khadka, Minister of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal, Minister of Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada, and Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development Mahendra Ray Yadav.Deuba will hold bilateral talks with Modi at Hyderabad House tomorrow.A version of this article appears in the print on April 2, 2022, of The Himalayan Times.
