KATHMANDU, MAY 12A climbing guide, who was suffering from severe high altitude sickness, died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu this morning. Russian climber dies at Camp I on Everest Civilians evacuated from Mariupol, Pelosi meets Ukraine's Zelenskiy Dipak Mahat from Gulmi, who fell ill at Camp II on Mt Everest on Monday, was evacuated to Kathmandu for treatment on Tuesday morning. Doctors attending Mahat at Kathmandu-based HAMS hospital pronounced him dead on Thursday morning, according to the expedition organizer.Mahat was a part of the Everest expedition of High 5 Adventures Pvt.

Ltd, locally managed by Pioneer Adventure.Doctors notified that Mahat suffered excessive bleeding due to high altitude sickness.

He underwent treatment at the intensive care unit of HAMS, said Nives Karki of Pioneer Adventure.Mahat accompanied Narbin Magar of High 5 Adventures Pvt.

Ltd while Magar was on a mission to take a replica of the 22nd FIFA World Cup trophy -flags of all the associated nations to the highest points of seven continents.Born in 1990 at Hastichaur-1, Gulmi, Magar completed his bachelor's study and began his adventurous journey in the Himalayas obtaining a trekking guide license from the government.

Mahat had climbed Island Peak, Lobuche Peak, Mera Peak, Chulu East, Amadablam, and Cholatse.This season, three climbers, including a foreigner, have already died in the Everest region. .
