Three contenders for speaker in Bagmati
Lawmaker of Bagmati Province Assembly under the proportional representation system, Chapagain garnered votes of CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Centre, Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Hamro Nepali Party.
Nepal Workers and Peasants Party's Gita Kafle received only three votes.
Nepali Congress' Suna Pariyar had thrown her hat in the ring for the post of deputy speaker.

One lawmaker each from NC and CPN-MC were absent from the voting process.
Lawmakers from the CPN (Unified Socialists) had stayed neutral in the voting process.
