The Galwan River flows from the disputed Aksai Chin location to Ladakh of India. It originates within the region of Samzungling on the eastern side of the Karakoram variety and flows west to sign up for the Shyok River
The Chinese Army had earlier pulled back its troops from the Galwan valley, PP-15 and Hot Springs in Eastern Ladakh area. The Indian side also introduced again a number of its troops and automobiles into these areas
The IndianArmy statement said: "During the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley, a violent face-off took place yesterday night with casualties on both sides. The loss of lives on the Indian side includes an officer and two soldiers. Senior military officials of the two sides are currently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation." Reportedly, The Chinese media resources have said that large escalation at the road of real control (LAC) has resulted in 5 PLA soldiers being killed, at the same time as 11 others getting injured. The Chinese Media resources have since backed out of the casualty figures as prompted by Chinese Government.
