The Venerable Mahanayake Theras of the three Sects and members of the Maha Sangha yesterday requested the public to desist from violence and engage in day to day activities while maintaining peace and unity.The Mahanayake Theras issuing a special statement said it was unfortunate to see ethnic and religious tensions rising following the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.

&This is not a time to fight but to sustain unity when the country is facing a terrorist threat.

All Sri Lankans should work as one to nullify this threat and take the country forward&
