Testifying before the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing the Easter Sunday attacks on Tuesday, August 6, Prime Minister (PM) Ranil Wickremesinghe said as the Government and the Cabinet, they cannot escape responsibility for the mistakes and lapses that led to the disaster and added that is why the PSC proceedings are being conducted to find out what had gone wrong.
Certainly, there had been a lapse and they are now in a transitional period and hope to find measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, he said.
