Share market update: Metal shares mixed; MOIL rises 2%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading on a mixed note in Thursday's morning session.

Shares of MOIL (up 2.18 per cent) , Welspun Corp (up 2.01 per cent) , Hindustan Copper (up 0.87 per cent) and Tata Steel (up 0.68 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (down 4.45 per cent), NMDC (down 0.94 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (down 0.71 per cent) and Steel Authority of India (SAIL) (down 0.63 per cent) were trading with losses.

The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.37 per cent up at 2892.80 around 11:42 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 99.25 points at 10,751.05 while the BSE Sensex was up 415.12 points at 36,006.37.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of ICICI Bank, YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Zee Entertainment, BEL, Axis Bank, Ashok Leyland, SBI, Indian Oil Corp, NTPC, Infosys, Bank of Baroda, Tata Motors and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
