Share market update: Fertilizer stocks rise; Mangalore Chemicals jumps 8%

NEW DELHI: Most fertilizer stocks were trading in the green in Wednesday's afternoon session. Shares of Mangalore Chemicals - Fertilizers (up 8.26 per cent) , Aries Agro (up 7.58 per cent) , Fertilizers - Chemicals Tranvancore (up 5.92 per cent) , Rashtriya Chemicals - Fertilizers (up 4.98 per cent) , Nagarjuna Fertilizers - Chem (up 4.87 per cent) , G S F C (up 4.40 per cent) , Rama Phosphates (up 3.27 per cent) and Khaitan Chemicals - Fertilizers (up 3.16 per cent) were among top gainers. Basant Agro Tech (India) (up 2.86 per cent) , Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 2.80 per cent) , Deepak Fertilizers - Petrochemicals (up 2.78 per cent) , Chambal Fertilisers - Chemicals (up 2.27 per cent) , Zuari Agro (up 2.15 per cent) and National Fertilizer (up 0.94 per cent) too were trading in the positive zone. M P Agro Industries (down 1.61 per cent) , Bharat Agri Fertilizer - Realty (down 0.66 per cent) and Coromandel International (down 0.32 per cent) were trading with losses. The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 42.80 points up at 11,045.85 while the 30share BSE Sensex was up 168.02 points at 37,313.47 at around 02:39 pm.

YES Bank (up 13.23 per cent) , Tata Motors (up 9.43 per cent) , Eicher Motors (up 4.97 per cent) , Tata Steel (up 3.94 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India (up 3.59 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Wipro (down 2.99 per cent) , GAIL (India) (down 2.50 per cent) , HCL Technologies (down 2.25 per cent) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises (down 1.98 per cent) were trading in the red.
