Share market update: IT shares advance; NIIT Tech gains 5%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading with gains in Tuesday's morning session. Shares of NIIT Technologies (up 4.59 per cent) , Just Dial (up 2.58 per cent) , Infosys (up 1.72 per cent) , Tata Elxsi (up 1.38 per cent) , Tata Consultancy (up 1.16 per cent) , Wipro (up 0.97 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (up 0.83 per cent) , Mindtree (up 0.79 per cent) and HCL Technologies (up 0.69 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty IT index was trading 1.32 per cent up at 15551.6 around 10:03AM .

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 69.45 points at 12123.4 , while the BSE Sensex was up 257.37 points at 41196.09 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd., Trident Ltd, JSPL, SAIL, Indiabull Housing Finance, Tata Motors, SBI and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
