Share market update: Bank shares slip; PNB down over 4%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with losses in Monday's morning session.

Shares of Punjab National Bank (down 4.15 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 3.67 per cent) , RBL BANK (down 3.29 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 3.06 per cent) , Yes Bank (down 2.44 per cent) , IDFC BANK (down 2.09 per cent) , Federal Bank (down 1.98 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (down 1.54 per cent) , ICICI Bank (down 1.54 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 1.39 per cent) , HDFC Bank (down 1.17 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.49 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.54 per cent down at 31575.95 around 09:56 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 140.95 points at 12,085.7 , while the BSE Sensex was 460.48 points at 41,004.13.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 were trading in the green, while 46 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Bank of Baroda, SBI, Tata Motors, SAIL, PNB, NBCC and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
