Share market update: Bank shares slip; PNB dips nearly 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with losses in Wednesday's morning session.

Shares of Punjab National Bank (down 1.54 per cent) , Bank of Baroda (down 1.25 per cent) , State Bank of India (down 1.16 per cent) , Federal Bank (down 1.09 per cent) , Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.99 per cent) , RBLBANK (down 0.8 per cent) , Axis Bank (down 0.74 per cent) , IDFC BANK (down 0.69 per cent) , HDFC Bank (down 0.66 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.05 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.6 per cent down at 31211.15 around 09:54 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 49.50 points at 12003.45 , while the BSE Sensex was down 137.19 points at 40,732.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SBI, Bank of Baroda, PNB, SAIL, Tata Motors, GMR Infra and Canara Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
