BENGALURU: Strong global demand for technology services is boosting prospects for Infosys, according to its CEO Salil Parekh, who has successfully steered the return of India’s second-largest software exporter to double-digit growth. In his first interview after being absolved of all charges of financial malfeasance made by anonymous whistleblowers, Parekh said Infosys has “pivoted into a digital jetstream that is moving quite well.

We need to keep executing on it”.

The company has hiked its growth forecast twice in this financial year. “Everything we are doing and driving (is) with integrity and we are looking ahead from that perspective,” said the 55-year-old Parekh, who has put in two years at the helm of a firm that was once the industry bellwether. Last week, the Infosys audit committee absolved Parekh and chief financial officer Nilanjan Roy of all accusations of wrongdoing, marking another episode in a long-drawn saga of whistleblower allegations that have dogged the software exporter in recent years. “There is a lot of work that a lot of people in the company are doing, which is very positive, and I am glad from a market perspective that it has been recognised,” Parekh told ET. Hired in the aftermath of a turbulent period that culminated in the exit of Vishal Sikka, Parekh has wielded a steady hand at the wheel.

“Demand is good, clients are buying,” he said, listing the top focus areas that include cloud-based services and data transformation.
