Share market update: Nifty Financial Services index up; ICICI GI jumps 4%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Financial Services index was up with its components trading higher in Thursday's afternoon session.

Shares of ICICI GI (up​ 4.24 per cent)​, Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (up​ 3.85 per cent)​, Kotak Mahindra Bank (up​ 3.5 per cent)​, Edelweiss Financial Services (up​ 2.71 per cent)​, REC (up​ 2.51 per cent)​, Bajaj Finserv (up​ 1.75 per cent)​, Bajaj Holdings - Investment (up​ 1.66 per cent)​, Axis Bank (up​ 1.25 per cent)​, Bajaj Finance (up​ 1.2 per cent)​, HDFC Bank (up​ 1.14 per cent)​, Power Finance Corporation (up​ 0.97 per cent)​, Mahindra - Mahindra Financial (up​ 0.61 per cent)​, SBI Life (up​ 0.55 per cent)​, ICICI Bank (up​ 0.5 per cent)​ and HDFC (up​ 0.31 per cent)​ were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Financial Services index was trading 1.04 per cent up at 13578.9 around 11:48 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 122.55 points at 11,373.55 , while the BSE Sensex was up 412.51 points at 38,821.99.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SBI, Tata Motors, SAIL, Ashok Leyland, GMR Infra, Vedanta and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
