Share market update: Media shares slip; Dish TV falls 9%

NEW DELHI: Media shares were trading in the red in Friday's afternoon session.

Shares of Dish TV India (down 9.65 per cent), Balaji Telefilms (down 6.68 per cent), PVR (down 6.56 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (down 5.25 per cent), Zee Media Corporation Ltd (down 4.94 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (down 4.87 per cent), DB Corp (down 4.64 per cent), Zee Entertainment (down 4.27 per cent), Music Broadcast (down 2.92 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (down 2.08 per cent), TV Today Network (down 1.93 per cent) and Hathway Cable - Datacom (down 1.37 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 3.17 per cent down at 1262.75 around 11:38 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 82.60 points at 9507.55 , while the BSE Sensex was down 269.77 points at 32508.37.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, SAIL, IDFC First Bank Ltd., ITC, ICICI Bank and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
