NEW DELHI: Shares of Huhtamaki PPL cracked 7 per cent on BSE in early trade on Thursday, a day after receiving an order from Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) to close down its Thane plant.
The company has filed a Writ Petition in Bombay High Court on 21 November, challenging and setting aside closure direction.
The company deals in containers packaging business.
Shares of the company opened at Rs 200 on BSE and touched intraday low of Rs 192 soon.
At 9:55 m, the scrip was trading at Rs 195.05, down 6.11 per cent.
Meanwhile, domestic equity benchmarks were trading in positive territory amid steady Asian cues, easing crude oil prices and strengthening rupee against the dollar.
The BSE Sensex was 0.43 per cent up at 35,352 at the time of writing of this report.
