Share market update: PSU Bank shares down; Bank of India slips around 2%

NEW DELHI: PSU Bank shares were trading lower with the Nifty PSU Bank index down 0.72 per cent at 2942.75 on Thursday. Shares of Bank of India (down 1.83 per cent), Union Bank of India (down 1.40 per cent), Canara Bank (down 0.95 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (down 0.94 per cent) were the worst performers in the index.

Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 0.79 per cent), State Bank of India (down 0.70 per cent) and Punjab National Bank (down 0.48 per cent) too were the top laggards in the index. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 19.10 points at 10,619.15 while BSE Sensex was up 82.8 points at 35,282.6 around 10:50 am.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Idea Cellular, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, NHPC, Vedanta, SBI, Indiabulls Housing Finance, ICICI Bank, Indian Oil Corp, Tata Motors and HPCL were among the most traded shares on the NSE on Thursday.
