Share market update: PSU bank shares fall; Canara Bank dips 5%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading with losses in Friday's morning session.

Shares of State Bank of India (up​ 0.61 per cent)​ and Bank of Baroda (up​ 0.44 per cent)​ were among the top gainers.

While Central Bank of India (down​ 10.28 per cent)​, Indian Bank (down​ 9.3 per cent)​, Indian Overseas Bank (down​ 7.14 per cent)​, Union Bank of India (down​ 7.06 per cent)​, UCO Bank (down​ 6.85 per cent)​, Punjab - Sind Bank (down​ 6.17 per cent)​, Canara Bank (down​ 5.58 per cent)​, Punjab National Bank (down​ 4.74 per cent)​, J - K Bank (down​ 4.73 per cent)​, Bank of India (down​ 3.85 per cent)​ and Bank of Maharashtra (down​ 0.54 per cent)​ were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.58 per cent down at 1398.15 around 10:44 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 94.90 points at 9495.25 , while the BSE Sensex was down 273.27 points at 32504.87.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SBI, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, ICICI Bank, ITC, IDFC First Bank Ltd., ONGC and Coal India Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
