Adobe Photoshop comes to iPad (Illustrator in 2020)

The list of things iPads can&t do shrank dramatically at Adobe Max when Photoshop finally became available for iPad.Adobe also confirmed that another key creative industry tool, Adobe Illustrator, will ship for the Apple tablet in 2020.

Introducing the apps, Simon Longbottom, Adobe vice president for Creative Cloud Services - Strategy, confirmed the company will continue to improve these products, aiming to deliver something like feature parity across all its supported platforms.

IBM, Intel, J.P. Morgan and Microsoft join others on new blockchain token spec

A new specification to allow businesses to create blockchain-based tokens for international trade and finance has been published & and businesses have already tested digital money based on it for cross border payments and settlement.

The Token Taxonomy Framework v1.0 (TTF) was developed by more than two dozen businesses and overseen by the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA). Its goal: give businesses and developers access to a set of reusable, cross-industry components to create usable tokens.

The new CIO at the big bank where pilot fish consults wants to be able to track the hours that each IT staffer spends on each project, so fish creates a timesheet system. From time to time, management decides that hours for a given project were entered with the wrong code, and either the affected employees have to resubmit their timesheets or fish has to change the data in the back-end database.

The CIO decides that one particular project shifted into a new phase two months ago. So fish creates a new project doc for the staff on that project to use going forward and waits to hear which past timesheets will need to be altered. Meanwhile, the CIO and his assistant look over the timesheets for the superseded project and notice that one employee, Chris, has properly entered all his hours for the past six weeks with the new project code. CIO wants to know why Chris can be a timekeeping superstar, in the hope that therea lesson that can be absorbed by the whole staff.

Do you really need a Chief Mobility Officer? (Spoiler alert: nope)

While one in three large enterprises has a chief mobility officer (CMO), according to one survey, that role is now largely duplicative and unnecessary & and creating it can hit a company's bottom line.

Management consultancy Janco Associates, which lists job descriptions and conducts bi-annual salary surveys, last week updated its description of a Chief Mobility Officer (CMO) to include privacy compliance policies in light of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CaCPA), which goes into effect in January.
