Ruling coalition intensifies discussion for forging electoral alliance
The statement comes against the ruling coalition's decision at the centre to contest the upcoming local elections by forging alliance.
As per sources, the decision of the local NC leaders to contest the elections without forging alliance was in the view of the prospect that CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate would be fielded with the alliance in the sub-metropolis.Yesterday, a joint meeting of NC Bara Constituency Number-4 (A) and Jitpursimara Town Committee took the decision to this effect."As Congress is capable to contest the election on its own without forging any alliance with any other parties, there is no point why we have to opt for alliance here," said NC Constituency (A) president Suman Kumar Bhattarai.Another NC leader Chhabilal Sharma, who is Jitpursimara Town Committee president, said their decision to fight the election individually was in line with the feelings of the local cadres.A version of this article appears in the print on April 15, 2022, of The Himalayan Times
