Share market update: PSU Bank shares gain; Central Bank rises 2%

NEW DELHI: Shares of PSU banks were trading in the positive zone in Thursday's morning session. The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.94 per cent up at 3259.80 around 09:58 am.

Shares of Central Bank of India (up 2.02 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 1.85 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.84 per cent) were the top performers in the index.

Punjab National Bank (up 0.80 per cent), Union Bank of India (up 0.64 per cent), Indian Bank (up 0.62 per cent) and Bank of India (up 0.48 per cent) too were trading with gains.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 64.70 points at 11,509.75 while the BSE Sensex was up 213.26 points at 38,346.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, LT Fin Holding, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company, SBI, DLF, NTPC, Tata Motors, BHEL, Ashok Leyland, Indian Oil Corp and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
